Mishari bin Rashid bin Gharib bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Afasi known as Mishari Al-Afasi is the Imam of the Grand Mosque in the state of Kuwait and a preacher in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic affairs in the state of Kuwait. He is considered one of the most famous reciters in the Islamic world due to the sweetness of his voice. The reciter is specialized in the ten Quranic qira'at.

Reciter Mishari Al-Afasi was born on Sunday 11 Ramadan 1396 AH / corresponding to 5 September 1976 in the state of Kuwait. He studied in Saudi Arabia at the Islamic University in The Prophet's City (Al Medina), specifically at the Faculty of the Holy Quran and Islamic studies.
